THE ORIGIN OF THE
NAME ‘AGC’
The name “Assemblies of God Nigeria” was obtained with scriptural backing from the book of Hebrews 12:23(KJV) which says,
“and to the general assembly and assembly of the firstborn who are registered [as citizens] in heaven, and to God, who is Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous (the redeemed in heaven) who have been made perfect [bringing them to their final glory]”,

Our HISTORY from
the beginning..
Our HISTORY from
the beginning..
Beginning in April 1914, after separating from the Church of God in Christ, about 300 preachers and laymen from 20 states and several foreign countries met for a general council in Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States. A new fellowship emerged from the meeting and was incorporated under the name General Council of the Assemblies of God in the United States of America.
In 1919, Pentecostals in Canada united to form the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, which formally affiliated with the Assemblies of God USA the following year. The Assemblies of God in Great Britain formed in 1924 and would have an early influence on the Assemblies of God in Australia, now known as Australian Christian Churches. The Australian Assemblies of God formed in 1937 through a merger of the Pentecostal Church of Australia and the Assemblies of God Queensland. The Queensland AG had formed in 1929. The Assemblies of God of South Africa, founded in 1925. The Nigerian council was founded in 1964.
In 1988, the various Assemblies of God national fellowships united to form the World Pentecostal Assemblies of God Fellowship at the initiative of Dr. J. Philip Hogan, then executive director of the Division of Foreign Missions of the Assemblies of God in the United States. The initial purpose was to coordinate evangelism, but soon developed into a more permanent organism of inter-relation.

GOD WILL KEEP YOU
GOD WILL KEEP YOU
Isaiah 26:3-4
Isaiah 26:3-4
"Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble" (Psalm 119:65, NKJV)
COMMENTARY
In a world that has uncertainties, betrayals and failures as common features, some of the promises of God might sound bogus, and, sometimes incredible. But because He is God all by Himself, there are countless things He can do, which the human mind can never even imagine, let alone comprelhend. One of such is captured in our main text this morning. It says: "You will keep him in PERFECT PEACE whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (lsa 26:3, NKJV, emphasis added).
Though the storms of life may rage without ceasing, God is able to keep those who trust Him, just like a city kept securely by a strong garrison unit. The key to accessing that perfect peace is trust in the Lord. "Trust," as a wise man once observed, "is reliance; and reliance said is always blessedness" - especially when you rely on the Rock of Ages.

tissue paper factory
& effect of covid-19
During the second regime under Rev. Dr. John Ikpe, the toilet tissue factory was built and launched.
The purpose of the factory was to generate more funds to finance other district projects instead of depending alone on tithe and offerings. Also, another reason was to create jobs for unemployed members of the district.
The factory was at the peak of it’s production and selling out in the market and public in general until the worldwide economic depression effect of the Covid-19 lockdown period took its toll on the factory production and hampered also both sales, shutting down the factory temporarily.
Right now the district is waiting to raise money to resuscitate the factory into a functional and even more modem condition.
